Description
Carved from a single solid log — no joins, no engineered panels — the East Java Log Side Table Stool is built the way solid wood furniture should be: one piece, cut to its cylindrical form, and finished to reveal its character rather than disguise it. Each piece is handcrafted from solid teak logs sourced from plantation teak trees aged 50 to 70 years in East Java, dried gradually so the grain settles naturally without cracking or warping under a rushed process.
Because every log grows differently, no two units are ever alike – each is a genuinely one-of-a-kind creation, its naturally sculpted contours and rich grain patterns left on full display rather than smoothed into uniformity. The knots, growth rings, and organic grain variation across the surface are not flaws sanded away; they are the record of how that particular tree grew, giving the piece a look that’s raw yet refined.
Finished with a natural oil that sinks into the timber rather than sitting on top of it, the surface feels smooth to the touch while the wood underneath stays visibly, tangibly alive. Perfectly suited to both indoor and outdoor spaces, it blends effortlessly with any furniture style for a timeless aesthetic – equally at home as a side table beside a sofa or pulled in as an occasional stool for extra seating.
